Pupil Pen
(2.25.03)
VERSE:
fate draws a crooked circle
can I shape it to a heart
bending hours, with hands, heart, and forehead
and lines from my pupil pen.....
author up a mile of secret gardens
slide rule the moonbeams in
Love is in bloom, all hues in your controlling
frangrances from saint to sin
PRE-CHORUS:
not from the stars can i
pluck a sense of judgement
can't fortune thunder, rain,
or snow
with my trusty pen I can conjure a new world
paper and ink turn to body and soul
CHORUS:
and hey Love can I sway you with Shakespeare?
Ernest Hemingway is out of town
I'm making monuments of intent with misprint
I've never been a builder of fine romance
Just a sheppard on the countryside in a foriegn land
VERSE:
To make the honeyed (golden) sun gleam from your eyes
I write by a forty watt bulb
To fashion jewels that adorn your every feature
I steal from the graveyard some
i'll wheel in skylines handmade for your amusement
Drape the sky in carrilion blue
with my trusty pen I can conjure a new world
paper and ink turn to body and soul
CHORUS:
and hey Love can I sway you with Shakespeare?
Ernest Hemingway is out of town
I'm making monuments of intent and misprint
I've never been a builder of fine romance
BRIDGE:
Just a sheppard on the countryside in a foriegn land
but its time to pay the taxes on emotions again
Writing out bank notes with this empty pupil pen
SOLO:
CHORUS:
