Some Solos Are Better Than Others

I play and briefly analyze the 1st Metheny solo in Bruce Hornsby's "Harbor Lights"

Every once in a while I'll hear a song, or solo, etc, that will just light me up and I'll say to myself 'I have to learn that'. There are too many to count, but this solo by Pat Metheny I've always loved. It's from Bruce Hornsby's "Harbor Lights" (title track) and it's one three solos Pat takes in this song. It has some really cool use of F Dorian and some lovely voice-led triads in the second half - specifically the Gm, Fm, to Cm triads. Very tasty and subtle but jam-packed with great ideas.  The SOLO is posted in my "Lessons and Concepts" course.
